The works are large scale abstract landscape paintings with a focus on colour and light.  Painted using oil paint in a diaphanous way, they allude to memories representative of a personal connection and experience within a specific place. These paintings seek to examine the landscape viewed as a mode of looking away from past personal trauma of the self, and the residual entropy left upon the marred subjective experience. These paintings are an expression of the remembering of experiences formed within a landscape, an exploration of how landscape is imbued with memories.  The work speaks of feeling and perception.

From the series ‘Re-illume’ 2021

Memories, healing and experiences within nature. The transparencies of oil paint are utilised to capture the shifting light and shadow within the Tasmanian Landscape. The light is emblematic, symbolising the reciprocity of the healing power of nature towards human beings.

Synchronicity between the natural world and the human psyche is embodied by the profound effect of immersing ourselves within the beauty of nature. The ever-fluid merging of the external and internal human experience

The paintings are about life and connection, about the intangable nature of beauty, the changing world around us and also within.
