‘Requiem’ 2021.

This Series is a personal narrative of memories of love, time and place past.  A figure moves through the house as a ghostlike apparition, the images a visual depiction which convey the feeling of separation upon returning back to this place in time.

The photographs are taken with the subject looking back or away, the lighting suggesting a passing of time, and the movement of the subject intentionally blurring the image making the figure seem ghostlike and imbuing a sense of timelessness.  There is a dreamlike state, a haunted fragment of a memory.  The choice of white dress alludes to the feminine tropes of a woman, the lighting suggests a distant passing of time. These images hope to convey both strength and fragility, there’s a timelessness, an enigmatic expression of feelings, implied by the attire and inspired by the fashion of the 1920s.

‘Untitled ‘2021’

These works are a narrative series of black and white self-portraits.   In these images my identity is obscured. This has been achieved by only capturing a part of the body, by use of props to hide the face, or camera techniques such creating a blurred photograph.  The display is a series of very dark, and lighter images alluding to a state of being.  Monocratic Depictions portraying fragments of self, faceless yet intimate projections.
